Fire and Water – Colorado State Forest Service Releases the 2016 Forest Health Report

The 16th annual report on the health of Colorado’s forests, prepared for the Colorado General Assembly, citizens and others, provides credible, scientifically based information to encourage public dialogue regarding the future of our forests. This year’s report describes the current condition of Colorado forests and focuses on the themes of fire and water. These two natural elements have significant impacts on Colorado’s forested lands. Fire and water are integrally linked as necessary components in shaping a healthy, natural forest environment; in return, both are heavily influenced by forests themselves.
