Estes Valley Watershed Coalition

The Estes Valley Watershed Coalition envisions a healthy watershed that is resilient to extreme events, sustains diverse habitats for flora and fauna, and enhances the quality of life for our community. EVWC was created to lead local Estes Valley flood recovery and restoration projects by partnering with the Estes community. Our mission is to bring together local, state, and federal partners to collaborate on projects that support the water, forests, and wildlife of the Estes Valley. The water that originates here in the Estes Valley supplies more than one million downstream urban and rural users along the Front Range. Our efforts to preserve and protect this vital flow can be divided into five primary goals:

WATERSHED HEALTH
Maintain a healthy water supply through forest management, stream management plans, and riparian restoration projects.

OUTREACH
Expand outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about wildlife and natural resource issues.

FOREST HEALTH
Facilitate forest management projects for high-priority areas.

CAPACITY-BUILDING
Establish diverse funding sources to improve our capacity to respond to the needs of the community.

PLANNING
Create and implement a wildfire-ready watershed action plan (WRAP)
