Welcome to the Colorado Wildland Fire Conference

The Colorado Wildland Fire Conference is held every 18 months. This year our conference will be in Fort Collins, Colorado in April 2023; followed by a conference in the fall of 2024.

The Colorado Wildland Fire Conference is geared toward professionals working proactively to improve wildfire outcomes in Colorado communities and landscapes such as Mitigation Specialists, Emergency Managers, Firefighters, Researchers, Foresters, Developers and Policy Makers. Anyone wishing to learn more about how they can reduce their community’s vulnerability to wildfire is welcome to attend.

Welcome to the Colorado Wildland Fire Conference

REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the 2023 Colorado Wildland Fire Conference, to be held April 12th and 13th, in Fort Collins, Colorado. The #2023CWFC will feature a 2-day Mitigation Best Practices pre-conference workshop, as well as a post-conference Poudre Watershed Tour, hosted by the Northern Colorado Fireshed Collaborative


The collaborative event features a wide variety of presentations exploring the conference theme of “Accelerating Adaptation and Managing Expectations”.


In an era where wildfires are outpacing efforts, the 2023 Colorado Wildland Fire Conference will focus on how we can accelerate action and develop robust strategies to help our communities adapt. ​

Who should attend the conference?

This conference is geared toward professionals working proactively to improve wildfire outcomes in Colorado communities and landscapes such as Mitigation Specialists, Emergency Managers, Firefighters, Researchers, Foresters, Developers and Policy Makers. Anyone wishing to learn more about how they can reduce their community’s vulnerability to wildfire is welcome to attend. 

2023 Colorado Wildland Fire Conference Scholarship Request

If you need financial support to attend the conference, apply for a scholarship here before December 31, 2022.

Scholarships generally cover the registration cost covering breakfast, lunch, and conference special events ($375-$400 value). However, we do not want expenses of attending the conference to be prohibitive for anyone wishing to attend who can leverage their learning and connections from this conference to further wildfire adaptation in Colorado. If you have additional needs please include in your response under “why you need a scholarship to support conference attendance”. You may be offered partial support. Successful scholarships may also include a discount rate.
